Bk Loaded strat

Hi All,

Thought you may like to see this strat.

First a little about our company. We are 13 Guitar Co. A new guitar workshop dedicated to making the finest handmade guitars for a reasonable price. Every instrument is made by hand to the highest standards.

A little about the guitar.
Body: Alder
Neck: Birds eye maple. 14'' radius
Finger board: Birds eye maple with stagered black tahiti dot inlay
Pickups: Bare Kuckle Irish tours, zink plate on bridge, reverse polarity (hum cancelling) on position 2 and 4. (5 way switch)
Colour: Sonic blue with brown tort pick guard and back plate. Matching cream knobs and pickup covers
Hardware: Hipshot 2 point floating trem, hipshot tuners.

Little about the guitars tone.
Clean; sweet mids, defined bottom end and crisp snappy highs. Genrally a bright tone but the top end is not shrill or harsh, more rich and creamy!
Crunch; Great cruch tone! Loads of definition. Never gets muddy. Bright but again not harsh a very big and gutsy sound!
Overdive; Wow. Surprisingly hot tone for a vintage sounding pup. Could pass off as a metal guitar if not for the vitage look. Very versitile.

Heres what bare knuckle has to say about the Irish Tours:

''A true hot vintage wound set of single coils; warm highs, grinding mids and fat bottom end produce a massive powerhouse Strat tone.
The Irish Tour single coils take the 42 AWG plain enamel wind to the max with a clarity and depth that can only be achieved through hand-winding. Although big strings and strong hands result in a huge tone, the powerful output of the Irish Tour coils allows mere mortals an equally big and gutsy sound.

Low notes have a fuller, richer tone with more weight in the mids while the high strings respond with a rounder chime and warmer harmonics. The hotter wound bridge can push a tube amp into natural overdrive while the calibrated mid and neck coils retain the hollow, woodiness of the Mother's Milk coils but with extra output ''

Very true about this guitars tone. Bright but warm. Sweet but gindging mids. Big but defined bottom end. You get it all with this guitar.
The very beuitiful brown tortoise pick guard is a Fender origional fully wired and warrantied by Bare Knuckle using thier custom made 300 ohm pots and caps (you should see the size of the cpaasitors!)

A little about the playability
The neck is the vintage style 'fatty' neck. Big but nice and round. The finger board has a 14'' radius as apposed to a 12''. This will make playing slightly easier and make bending the strings a doddle while retaining a vintage feel.

Overall the guitar has a vintage feel but with a modern twist; the slightly flatter neck radius and hot wound pick-ups.

The guitar will come with a case and a full warranty from both 13 Guitar Co and Bare Knucle.

If anybody wishes to visit the work shop in Liverpool UK to try this guitar they are more than welcome. But please E-mail first.

And don't forget! if this guitar isn't for you why not place a order with 13 Guitar Co. Then you can design your own dream guitar from the bottom up! Vintage look strat with a flat neck profile? Neck-through design on a classic shape like a Les Paul or Tele? Or somethig completly different?! Anything is possable! This is the type of challenge that we at 13 Guitar Co love! And with prices starting at £1000 you can get your dream guitar for a fair price.

This guitar is now for sale for £1300. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. And feel free to browse our web site www.13guitarco.com

Thanks for looking -Paul-

...Hi. Quite a long commercial. Personally I would never buy a strat with a fretboard that flat, maybe others are waiting for it.

Hi Telerocker,

Thanks for the imput. Theres not too much difference between 14'' and 12'' radius. I chose a flatter radii so the strings are easier  to bend as this is a more solo orienated strat.
Of course I can make any radius the customer wants even a compound radius.

Thanks for the post and feel free to check the web site out. www.13guitarco.com

I've got some more woods in stock so if anybody wants to throw some ideas out for guitars then thats would be cool. Maybe we'll see themposted here in the near future.

Thanks-Paul-

is it me or are the E and A tuners on that guitar not straight in comparison to the others? Is that an aesthetic choice?

I noticed that too... I'd hope it's aesthetic. As far as I know it shouldn't really create tuning problems (don't take my word for it, though...)

Hi Guys,

Yes the tuners are on a angle. The top of the headstock is curved rather than straight so each tuner is angled to match the curvature of the headstock. This makes no difference to the tuning.

The  tuners (as well as the bridge) are hipshot just to confirm.

If you want me to post some more photo's then just ask. No problems  :P

For me no further then 9.5, I'm a quite conservative guy in this respect. Anyway, if I want a flat radius, I sure want some pickups that match the highspeedriffing and - soloing idea. A trio of Sinners by example. In my opinion IT's belong in a traditional strat, but that's just my conservative mind.  :)
