Black Hawk orientation
« on: August 04, 2012, 02:26:25 PM »
Hi all,

I know pickup orientation (pole screws facing outwards or inwards) can make a tonal difference but I'm curious about the Black Hawk with the blade system.
Does orientation make a difference with these pickups and if so how does one know what way to orientation them for a standard pickup set up.

Thanks.

I flipped the neck around just to see if it made a difference and it did not to my ears. I believe the slugs are equal and it doesn't matter which way you put it in. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong.

if you have a DMM, measure the DC resistance of each coil - that will tell you if they're equal or not.

The Black Hawk is symmetrically wound so orientation should not make any difference
