NTD! Kahler content
« on: August 10, 2012, 06:29:15 PM »
It's a 2700/2710 Killer.

It's pretty cool and just drops straight into a 2 point strat cavity.

It has adjustable radius & string spacing and also individual string height!

Unfortunately the mounting studs/knife edge kinda things didn't come at the same time but hopefully they shouldn't be too long.

In theory I could just use a countersunk head machine screw as a temporary fix but i'll just wait. I love the fact that it has no knife edges to wear out and the replacement stud pieces that it pivots on are $4 each.

Pretty cool about the height and spacing. I've usually preferred Floyd over Kahler, but this does look really neat. Hope you like it!

The features were one of the main attractions. Also the fact that its strat compatible with no permanent body mods.

I still can't believe the condition its in to say its 20+ years old.

Oh also I forgot to mention it also has the auto latch system which is effectively a tremelno. When the arm is in the down position the trem locks itself and unlocks when you lift it back up for usage. Pretty nifty!

I was going to ask if it's new or an old unit, but I see you've mentioned it's 20+ years old!

Although the bridge doesn't have knife edges, the screws/studs do wear out quite quickly.  But it's true, they are cheap to replace.

wammiworld?

Nah I got this really cheap on ebay. I was originally planning to get one from JacksonRR but he seems to have disappeared then I was planning on going to wammiworld and just happened to come across this ridiculously cheap.

There's another on currently if anyones interested also with the auto latch. It was $99 last time I checked.

I know nothing about trems, but it looks in super condition for its age. Happy new whammy day  :D
