High end pups for my 60Ann Telecaster.
« on: August 16, 2012, 07:29:51 AM »

Hi guys,
Im looking for some high end pups for me new 60Ann Telecaster that I bought a week ago. So naturally I ended up here at BK forum and site to find those  :)
I would like to take it with her natural character a bit further, I don’t want to mode her for heavy metal\some other crazy idea ;) just to elevate her being to the higher level.
I did some research about the variety of tele pups that BK offer, and I guess what im looking for laying with the four "Blackguard Tele Series"

Any suggestions which one?
Or if someone have some other ways to get it beside those four I will be happy to here his\here advice.

Thanks!

Hi
Good to see someone who wants to upgrade his tele! We hadn't them that much here lately.
I have the BG52-set (actually the old BG50's before the range was re-arranged and expanded) and that's a versatile set. The bridge is genuine bold early fifties tone with enough sparkle to twang, but capable of doing serious rock too. The neck is quite stratty. Don't let yourself be fooled by the dc-resistance. It's in balance with the bridge. BKP recommends this set especially for maple neck tele's, but they work with rosewood too (mine has a rosewood board). If you have a rosewood board and you want some extra topendchime look at the the 55's.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I recently put a Yardbird neck in my rosewood tele which replaced a custom shop '63  pickup. I'm very happy with it, good solid bluesy and jazzy sound, great with od and fuzz too , still with some sparkle on top with tone on full. Compared to the CS pickup it has more mids and body to sound but still very clear.
