Pickups For ES-335 Style Guitar
« on: August 16, 2012, 08:16:43 PM »

hey guys, i've been stressing out about what type of BKP pickups i'm going to throw into my custom project which is a maple bodied es335 style guitar with mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard.
i mostly play stuffs like Sleeping With Sirens, A Day To Remember, blessthefall, Asking Alexandria, blink-182 and every other pop punk bands, you name it!   :guitar4:
Initially, I was thinking about putting Ceramic Warpigs for the bridge and Cold Sweat for the neck, will it sound too dark?
what do you guys think? will the combo work?but then again i'm also thinking about the Painkiller for the bridge too.
i'm going for a tone that's full of mids, with the treble a bit less than the mid, and tight bass response.
i'm so confused, i dont know what to put on my guitar

Pop punk with a semi ? Riff Raff. Definitly. If you want something hotter put it in a solid-body.

Have: Crawlers, BGF 50/52s, Mules, ABomb, RiffRaff
Had : Slowhands (n&m), Trilogy (b)

You might try the Black Dogs, or the Abraxas. They're both really full in the mids the Abraxas is a bit more open sounding to me. They both have tight bass. The BD may be a bit tighter than the Abraxas. ALNICO IV seems to have bass response that is fast as the. ALNICO V, but sounds more organic, or open.
