Another Mule'd SG clip
« on: August 17, 2012, 08:31:50 PM »
Done something more my usual style of riff based rock that always needs vocals  Mule in a Gibson SG standard through a BYOC tubescreamer then Laney GH50L. Bit rough round the edges and could maybe do with a solo but it'll do.

Would love to play this live!

Great stuff Tom !  :D

I like how the Mules have enough weight in the mids, to make the ascending string bends really sing in a way redolent of ( Brian Robertson era ) Thin Lizzy ; yet still have enough 'bite' when required.  I suspect that the Riff Raffs would have been less adaptable between the two soloing 'voices' that you use, even though they are an awsome pickup in their own right.  As you said, that would be fun to play or hear live !  :)

Yeah I think I'm just gonna keep the Mules in for now. My Epiphone actually sounds great with its stock pickups in so I'm going to leave it all as is, maybe selling the Epi anyway as it never gets used.

The only thing I'm finding with my SG is that it seems to need a boost to get the best out of it otherwise it just sounds a bit flat and lifeless no matter what pickups I use.

Killer hard rock tone and some nice riffing. Totally kick arse  :D I think the mules sound great in your SG and riff raffs propably couldnt' do a better job.

Cheers :D Just need to find a singer who sounds like Neil Fallon and I'm sorted haha.

I've just added a short uninspired solo - http://soundcloud.com/tom_the_beast/170812-2
