A load of old pollocks!
« on: August 31, 2012, 03:52:55 PM »
Just picked this up of the bay - a bit of a gamble given the paint and not knowing what is underneath

Its an Aria Pro II CSB-380 made in Japan sometime in the mid 80's.  the exact model played by Kim Deal on the first few Pixies albums.

now, onto the paint. I actually dont think the person that did this did a bad job, if you like that sort of thing.   I dont so its coming off -

the bass comes apart

After 5 minutes rubbing with paint thinners the back has started to come up nice

sadly the thinners are only moving the white paint - so its time to try something more hardcore

thankfully the guitar seems to be in pretty good condition underneath it all so looks liek my ebay gamble will come up good

Cool!  8)

I saw the pic and thought "Oooooh, Aria Cardinal Series!"

I have had GAS for a CS-400 for over 30 years, ever since seeing this ad in Guitar Player in 1981.  They hardly ever appear on eBay, although you do see the cheaper bolt-on models like the CS-250 and CS-350 occasionally.

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Nothing wrong with the Stone Roses. Just putting that out there.

Soz, just had to rant about that. I feel better now.

I like the Stone Roses but absolutely agree that the Pixies are far far far superior.
I think I hate being indecisive.

That's one of the more unusual rants I've seen in a while.

Stone Roses vs. Pixies?  I'm not a fan of either, to be honest.  I did buy a Pixies box set ages ago but couldn't really get into it.*    :|

Not really a fan of either, but I like odd songs. Mr Squires also has a really nice old BMW E30 DTM car that he takes on track.
When you´re racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just pies.
