Question for amp experts re mains voltage.

yeah that's what i meant (your last sentence). Something that's not running so hot at "normal" voltage might be safer even if the voltage were slightly higher.

Absolutely. I rarely see problems with Blues/ HRD Deluxes which I cam ascribed to over voltage.

Didn't realise those higher wattage fenders weren't biased as hot, though- maybe that adds more credence to your point about the transformers :lol:

Electrician here. UK mains is all over the shop. I've seen villages with under 220v and homes with 250v in. I've even seen homes with 3 phase in the house where there are sockets in the same room on the same phase. Now thats a possible 415v under fault. Thats really fkn dodgy in a home (its quite dodgy anywhere tbh).

Poland is or was 220 I think. I had a look at a Soundman amp recently that had some pretty high voltages in due to it wanting less than the 244v I was giving it. Whole thing was a bit borderline.
