Mississippi Queen + Aftermath?
« on: September 06, 2012, 06:33:38 AM »
Is there any reason a Mississippi Queen neck and Aftermath bridge wouldn't work well together? It seems like a crazy combination, but I'm looking to mod a Telecaster Deluxe 72 reissue for (mostly) downtuned prog/tech metal riffing and warmer, well, "Mississippi Queen"-like melodies/leads. I haven't heard of this before, so I've got that nagging feeling there will be a problem with relative volumes or something like that. Ideas?

I can't really answer your question, but the MQ neck has been paired succesfully with the Nailbomb bridge and the latter is a quite hot and very aggressive pickup so the Aftermath/MQ combo might work...

Yeah, that's kind of what started me thinking about MQ + A. The NB bridge has a higher DC than the Aftermath and plays nice with the MQ, so I'm hoping it will work.

I paired it up with a miracle man bridge which to my ears is hotter and more aggressive than the AM (I owned both) so I cant see their being any issues
