The subject line says it all! Well, almost all.
Here's the deal: From the list of my gear below, tell me what guitar you would like to hear, through what amp, and what song you would like me to play. I will then learn the track and record it, and post it on the forum.
I have no idea what the response to this will be. If it gets out of hand, I may have to add some restrictions, but for now, you name it, I will do it.
Here are the Bare Knuckle pickups I can use, and the guitars they are in:
Mule set in Gibson Les Paul Classic
Pat. Pend. '63 Veneer Board set in Fender USA Series Stratocaster
VHII (bridge) in Fender American Standard Stratocaster
Rebel Yell set in PRS Standard 22
Alnico IV BKP-91 (bridge) in Gibson '54 Black Beauty reissue (this is basically a Nantucket 90 that Tim custom wound for me to give a kind of P90 version of the Mule)
Riff Raff set (unpotted) in Gibson Joe Perry signature Les Paul (coming soon – pickups have arrived but aren't yet fitted). The pickups will be wired out of phase in the middle position.
These are the amps I have access to:
Marshall 2061X (20 watt non-master volume EL84 amp; sounds a lot like a Plexi)
Vox AC30 (actually a clone. I don't know who built it, but it sounds great)
Fender '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue
I've also got a fair few pedals – Tube Screamers, Super Hard On, that kind of thing.
My recording setup will be guitar -> amp -> Sequis Motherload (acting as a load box) -> RedWirez cabinet simulation. This gives an extremely natural sound and should give a really clear idea of how the pickups sound.
If you insist that you want to hear a mic'ed up cab, not emulated, I can do that too but you will have to give me a bit longer. Obviously I can't record a mic'ed cab at any time, whereas with the amp-into-RedWirez set-up, you still get the tone of a valve amp, and I can record silently.
My specialty is classic rock, so I'm extra happy to answer requests in that vein, but as I said, I will do anything (for now).
GO!
