I'd like to try one, but maybe I should just save a couple of pictures and leave it at that.

This

It's working for me at the moment...

It does look quite cute, though.

Luckily for me, I've got so used to the look and feel of a full-sized one, this miniature version doesn't cause any more than a pleasant "oh, that's quite cute"...

In fact, it took me ages the other week to get used to a strat "floating/rattling around" in my arms because it was so small  (don't tell Frank)... I have no idea what my SG is going to feel like when I give that a go...

Whereas for me, a scaled-down semi is a wondrous thing!

In fact I'm really starting to like chambered guitars in general, even the ones without f-holes.  I like that extra bit of resonance and acoustic volume - it may not even translate into the amplified tone, but since I mostly sit around playing unplugged, I favour guitars with a bit of "life" to them.

I think I will just restrict myself to looking at pictures of these Hagstroms, though.  I already have my Washburn which does much the same thing (although it badly needs a pickup upgrade!) and (much) further up the scale I have my Gibson (which may get a pickup upgrade one day, although the thought of trying to rewire through those f-holes is truly horrifying!)

It reminds me of the situation a few years ago when BC Rich had their Calibre series, I think they were made in the Czech Republic.  They looked great but they seemed to be very hard to actually get hold of, and the whole operation came to an end pretty quickly.

mine's really nice :)

Yeah Europe, could be anywhere. I guess Poland (Mayones?) or Czech Republic.

is there a town called "Europe" in china?

Have you got a BC Rich Calibre Classic, Dave?  Which model?

I was really quite keen to get a Mockingbird or Bich, but I only ever saw them on eBay and the seller was in the USA.

What's up with the dual strap pin at the end of the body? I have never seen that before  :?

EDIT: Oh well. I just managed to find out myself

Tom Anderson's been doing that for many years.

I don't know if it's supposed to give you a choice so the guitar balances differently on a strap, but if nothing else you can stand it on the floor without it falling over or getting scratched!  :)

They are very fine guitars. I just watched this clip with a Hagström (because of the amp though):

My retailer, who's a Fender Custom-shop-, Gretsch- and PRS-dealer, talked quite positively about them. He's planning to take them on stock.
