oh my... i want one... no no... i NEED one....

but theres one little issue which is bugging me....

does it work with distortion? ive seen a video demo with fantastic clean sounds but no one says anything about distortion!!!!!

anyone tried one/owned one?

I think its also heard on the new live Wilco album, because it's definitely in Nels Cline's set up. It's also on some crazy free jazz albums he did.

It's definitely a very cool piece of kit. I can never understand why so many companies make octave up pedals, but never octave down. There are millions of octave up pedals, I think it's cos of the fact Hendrix used them, but I can only think of 3 octave down pedals - the POG, the Boss OC2 &3, and the Foxrox Octron.

It's definitely something I'm interested in checking out, but I don't much like the idea of dropping £245 on one pedal.

yer i know its sooo expensive but thats because its the ONLY piece of kit thatts ANYTHING like it...

i know what you mean willo about not many octave down pedals.. thats what was pissing me off so much.... i thought the MXR blue box would be good but bit limited and most reviews say its very noisy and only good for 'Atari' music!?!?! so then i was stuck for options really until i found the pog. the good thing is its got octave down AND octave up (two up in fact) which means you have loads of options and versatility. it just seems so good.

im now completely stuck- overdrive distortion pedal, boost pedal, or POG...?!?!?!?!? ahhh!

hey kids, i've got a POG!!!

it's quite brilliant, and yes it sounds wondrous with distortion too.  the only problem really is that you can only set it for one sound, which is a pity since it can do so many.  i suppose all these multi effects processors with endless user patches have us spoiled.  still, if you can stomach handing over the cash for one, you souldn't regret it!  you could blow it all on beer that's gone tomorrow, or on a piece of gear you'll get a lifetime out of...

the thing is, for £245 kind of money you could get one of those moogerfooger moog pedals, and they sound lovely. i know it's a different kind of thing, but if you're splashing out that kind of money a wee moog is at least worth a look.

there's  a 12 stage phaser, a ring modulator (on my list of things to buy), a low pass filter and the MURF (which I stand no chance of being able to explain).

crumbs that ring modulator is some crazy sh*t!!!!! as are all of those moog pedals!!! they sound amazing for funky/trance/dance music but definately not for me lol.....

One of my best friends has one for his studio and he reckons it's brilliant. I love the 12string simulation and the organ type. Nice......expensive though.

Satch uses one is his new album, which is out on March 10th. Go to http://www.satriani.com/2004 access the Podcast and listen to the first clip or watch the small video. It shows his playing it through his JSX. It sound great with single distorted notes :D
