Abraxas Bridge...RY neck?
« on: September 17, 2012, 11:02:06 AM »
I recently got hold of a Les Paul Custom, and whilst I love it, I obviously want to change to BKPs as on my other guitars.  As you can see from my sig I am usually a fan of the higher output/contemporary end of the BKP range, but I want something different for this one.
After a lot of thought, and reading of the forum I think that I am set on getting an Abraxas for the bridge - want something more vintage sounding, but still with a fair bit of poke.

Now, I have a Rebel Yell neck pup in another guitar that I barely use any more...my question is how you think that these would match up?  Imagine that the RY would sound very modern in comparison and might not sit well.
Any advice appreciated.

I have both the RY set and the Abraxas set but I have not combined any of these pickups in the same guitar nor played any of them in the same guitar as well.

Output wise AB bridge and RY neck should match well. I also don't think there would be a tonal mismatch between the individual pickups. As regards how they sound combined - no idea - maybe best to ask Tim or Ben. I would give it a try though.

Cheers Stephan

Nice one, thanks for that.
Think will give it a go, after asking the BKP team, and if they don't work then have not lost anything.
