Hilarious, though I must admit I'm intrigued by the phrase "a subsequent misunderstanding between the client and staff at their call centre."
What sort of misunderstanding?

Like:

"You say I owe you about 6000 times France's annual economic output, but I think there must be some sort of mistake"
"No mistake, pay up, waif!"

I know that where I work, we have a system in place so that bills over a certain threshold automatically get routed to a specialist team who manually check the bill to ensure its correct.
