Anyone fancy having a sing song?
« on: October 15, 2012, 02:51:39 PM »
y'alreet pets!

I'm working on a new little EP (or demo, call it what you will) & I've had the great (or self indulgent) idea of making the outro on one of the songs a big sing along style affair....  Now seeing as we're living in the age of the internet I thought it'd be fun to get lots of people all over the place to record themselves singing along & then put everyone in the song to make a big chorus of people (instead of the more sensible way of just getting lots of people together at the same place, at the same time).

If any fellow BKPers fancy joining in I've got a demo version of the track in question here... http://soundcloud.com/psystatic/push-demo

I think this is a great idea, but wouldn't a bunch of people using various forms of recording and equipment make it sound kinda sloppy?

IŽd be interrested to contribute (if I can produce something somewhat in key xD).
Would be interresting to see if it can be made to sound good with the issue allstar raised, but I think it certainly is worth a try.

Valid concerns Allstar...  I'm just viewing that challenge as part of the fun trying to do this.  As long I get a reasonably in tune, reasonably in time dry vocal track I should be good.

I'm using Cubase as my DAW so I'll be able to move the phrasing about a little to line all the various takes up.  I'll be able to do a touch of pitch correction if that's need too.  As well as all the generally EQ'ing compressing etc it'll need.

My voice will probably still be the main focus, so that'll also help keep it tighter.

If nothing else it'll be a fun experiment for me :)

Well in that case I'll be sure to load up a track ASAP!
