am still tempted by the the stronger mids of the SH......

If you ever played DiMarzio FS1 (aka DP-110 - known to have been used by Knopfler, Gilmour and The Edge), the SH are a bit lower output, a bit softer,  and _way_ better (God I miss that guitar - but well, was part of the deal to get the SG that's now my #1) - but like the FS1 they don't quite have that scooped mids that is part of the typical strat tone signature. Think of them as something between strat pups and P90s - not that they try to be be P90s in Fender SC format, but they have something of the fullness and warmth of P90s.  Now that was with a quite middy guitar too (thick heavy maple body) and using 250K pots, so they might sound more stratish (a bit more scooped and a bit brigther) in a real strat, specially with 300K or 500K pots.

My two cents....
Have: Crawlers, BGF 50/52s, Mules, ABomb, RiffRaff
Had : Slowhands (n&m), Trilogy (b)

Tim has recommended I opt for the Trilogy/HD combo based on the info I gave. I think I'm gonna trust him and go for it!! Will be putting in my order as soon as pay day comes.

Will let you all know how it goes once I've got them set up.

Thanks all for your advice - been overwhelmed by the helpfulness of this forum and BKP support!
