Hi folks! I already own a '92 Ibby RG550DY which has a Holy Diver bridge and VHII neck. Coupled with 550k pot and BKP cap, the tone is just RIGHT THERE, it's really the perfect lead guitar for me.

Although I also own two other Ibbies which are a '89 RG750WH and a '91 RG565EG.

I was wondering which pickups I might put in these other two. For sure I'll put 550K pots in both of them, and I might even remove the tone out of the equation in one, or both of them.

Acoustically speaking, the RG550 sounds way more middy and spanky. RG750 sounds warmer, but with a nice presence. RG565 sounds definitely brighter and more defined than the RG750, but has more presence and less of the RG550 "spankiness".

Due to the guitars' aesthetics, I was thinking about going with a more vintage/brown sound approach on the RG565, and a more modern approach on the RG750. Tuning would be E standard on the RG565 and drop D on the RG750.

As I said, I loooove the VHII on my RG550 and would like something similar on my 750's neck, very juicy and defined with lots of character. Maybe a Cold Sweat or Emerald?
What about the bridge? I'm looking for something more aggressive and a bit modern, but still with a classic vibe, for Shred/Thrash. Miracle Man or Nailbomb maybe? Alnico or Ceramic?

I want the RG565 to be a perfect Heavy/Shred example a la Becker/Gilbert/Nuno/etc...those days. So the bridge needs to have lot of character and vibe, but with enough juice to make the amp scream. I think Holy Diver would be the perfect choice, but I already have it in my RG550....so? :?

Thanks for your time ;)

can't help with the pickups (only tried the MM bridge and CS neck out of what you've listed), but that yellow 550 is super-awesome :D

I can't help either, and I don't normally like superstrats, but that RG550 looks magnificent!  Great photo.  I opened this thread and suddenly I was transported back to 1987.  :D

I like the RG565 too.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I hesitate to disagree with Eric because he's much better at this than I am.... but if the RG565 naturally sounds relatively bright and defined, I really do think the Rebel Yell would be overly bright and thin, lacking in bass, in that guitar.

(Just talking about the bridge pickup, I don't know about the neck)

I'm actually afraid in putting a Rebel Yell in it, had one in my (already very bright) Daemoness 7 and completely hated it, no bass at all, veeery harsh.

The Miracle Man should be an obvious choice for one of those guitars.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Francesco, those are gorgeous. I unfortunately can't help you with the pickup suggestions, only thing I can say for sure is that the Holydiver rules, loving mine.
Just out of interest: why the hell did you sell your Daemoness? I've been G.A.S.ing for one for soo long, I'd kill to own one :P

p.s.: release the Abio stuff already, don't wanna wait no longer ^^

There's always a legit reason to sell a guitar, sometimes you get in a selling mood and it just..... happens!

Unfortunately I don't own more than two high end guitars, one is a 62' Framus Hollywood I inheritet from my grandpa and the other one is a custom made Neubauer Guitars Strat I got for my 18th Birthday from my dad as a present, so no chance that it might just happen, I'd sell them over my dead body :P
However if anyone wants to buy my "amazing" Stagg SG (truly a high end guitar *cough*) I'd be happy to sell it :P
