NGD x 2 - Feline Lion Supreme Slimlines - Strawberry & Raspberry
« on: November 08, 2012, 05:30:58 PM »
Ok - lets do this as a twofer as these two are similar beasts

We have 2 recent Lion Supreme builds that feature a slimmer than usual body profile.

First up is one that came close to being one of our 20th anniversary builds but wasn't close enough to the spec I wanted for that to be called a 20th Anniversary Model.
Tom wanted us to make one but keep it similar to a much liked ESP Eclipse he has.
This included having a 24 fret neck, and a slimline body.
It still has our all access neck joint and typical mahogany and (quilted) maple construction
Electrics were a pair of Bare Knuckle Warpigs in black covers.
We had one spare set of the 20th anniversary inlays so Tom got away with having those on his guitar.
We were all rather pleased how that came out.

On the other hand Bob came to us wanting a similar sized guitar but wanted a somewhat simpler ornamentation on it

Construction was very similar - although 22 fret and a more traditional Les Paul style control layout.
Bob favoured a plainer dot and eyes inlay arrangement, and his colour choice was more of a Raspberry burst.
Also where Tom had had the red colour round the back of the guitar as well - Bob went with the natural look with a pale walnut colour on the mahogany
In both cases the choice of gold hardware really went well with the red colouring of the wood
Bob's guitar has a Mule in he bridge and a Mississippi Queen in the neck  - sounds awesome

Both bloody awesome! I love the Ibanez artist style inlays on the first one.

Yes - always loved that inlay since I had them on an Ibanez Icemen PS10 Paul Stanley model

My liking was from when I had old 80's Artist AR300... should never have got rid of that one. But at least now I know where to get a guitar made with them!

Woof - those are stunners!

But then I'm a sucker for red guitars.

I think I lean towards the colour and top of the first one.

New owner of the Raspberry one coming to collect tomorrow - think he's pretty excited!
Was playing it earlier - Mule sounds great and the MQ is a pleasure as always - the mix sound is surprisingly versatile

Do they balance well volume-wise?  It seems like the MQ neck is capable of pairing up with everything from a Mule to a Warpig.
