le sac magique

So I got a new cab after stumbling onto something cool this evening purely by chance in the middle of doing some research.

I've listed my old Marshall cab on gumtree (£250 X pattern V30/T75's better speaker wire, Mono/Stereo wiring with switching jacks, no PCB, Dacron wadding on the rear panel a la bogner/diezel) but before I did that, I had to remove magic bag.

Apart from all the other stuff that has been done to this 1960A cab... the magic bag was actually put there by someone who was at the time a crystal healer, possibly a shaman. The bag was introduced for my old bands last ever gig. The result? More study needed.

Rest assured, the magic bag is not for sale.

That looks worryingly like a clowns scrotum...

ah, crustal healer.   my mum was one of them for a time... as well as many other spiritual holistic kind of things she has done along the way

I am not really a complete spectic, in that i really want it all to be true but doubt most of it . befuddles my rather sane outlook on life - mainly because it comes from my mum and i doubt what she says is completely genuine and selfless

but meh, i enjoyed the hopi ear wax thingy ma bob.  it was kinds relaxing if nothing else.

I'm not saying I believe it or not. It's just a fun thing I sometimes forget about.

The story is it was my bands last show and a fella living in london, originally from the US, had been working on some music and I'd been jamming with him. His old band was one of those bands I was really really into when I was in my late teens. He's a great guy although he's moved on from what he was into then.

I think for a long time he'd been into tarot and crystal healing and various 'occult' lines of thinking though nothing sinister and all in good humour. I told him I built amplifiers sometimes and he started telling me about psionics and how machines (as a loose term) can be used with psychic ability for various purposes.

Two devices in particular are the psionic helmet and the tepaphone. Both are devices which are charged with psychic energy. In the helmet it is a crystal, and the case of the tepaphone a bulb.

It was my idea to employ this, mainly for fun, for my bands last show. So my friend and I, went along with this chap on a shopping mission around london to a few weird and wonderful places to look at crystals relating to hearing and health. Apparently the formation of the crystal makes a difference. It was a good job I was with someone who was into it! So... inside the bag is some Quartz and some Flourite.

On the night I was told I should say something similar to a prayer to acknowledge the energy of the crystals. As I plugged my guitar in I muttered something to myself. Got to play by the rules, right? Then I played.

Who knows if it worked at all! Probably not, right? But at least everyone who knew the bag was there also agreed they couldnt tell if it had an effect or anything either.

So... all a lot of fun really. When my new cab arrives the bag will be moved to a new home and the story will begin a new chapter.
