I've got one, the 15w head version. I love it to death.
I got it for home use as a practice amp, and I use the clean channel and pedals for high gain stuff. The cleans are really beautiful, and the crunch is good to. It's not a metal monster, but it takes to pedals really well. The EQ switching is really nice, and I tend to use the USA setting the most, although the Bitish voicing is good when you crank it loud and get a nice brown distortion.
I push the preamp with a Suhr Riot and a Suhr Koko boost, and that gets me into the metal territory. Even though I bought this amp as a practice amp, I lug it all the time to the studio for lead work and a different voicing compared to my Mesa Dual Rectifier. The Egnater gives me a creamier mid range (especially with the Koko boost with mid boost engaged) which suits my playing for leads. I find the Egnater more versatile and could gig it any time. I love this amp, but a good distoriton and OD stacked is a must if you want to play modern metal.
