Black Hawks in Mahogany
« on: December 09, 2012, 09:41:08 PM »
Anyone have experience with Black Hawks in mahogany? I've got a Mahog 7 that I'm looking to outfit with BKPs, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the combination. Also considering a C-Bomb.

Thanks in advance!

Ive put a set of black hawk pick ups in an ibanez rga42. I play through a vox lil night train amp. I would definitely recommend them. I chose the ceramic option , they are very clean sounding across the spectrum without coming across as sterile. Previously i used the stock actives, as well as an EMG 81/85 setup. I also had a dimarzio air norton /dsonic combo in as well and the bk black hawks essily sound better than all of these. ymmv

Well, I have mahogany 7 as well but I want the A-Bomb set because of its organic character and really HUGE sound. ;) But, as long as I play death metal, I'm considering C-Bomb in the bridge position too...
