BKP splittable neck humbucker for a les paul?
« on: December 12, 2012, 03:29:03 PM »
Dear esteemed gentlemen,

I need a new humbucker (or maybe even a hum-sized singlecoil) for the neck position on my all-mahogany Les Paul Custom. The tone Im looking for is a bright, woody, clear clean sound where you can really hear the strings work. Kind of acoustic, like what you can get from a good singlecoil neck pickup. I dont need a 'warm' sound, clarity and definition is what I want.

I have alot of switches on this guitar and Im planning to use the pickup with either a series/paralell or coilsplit switch. So if any of you guys have any advice, it would be much appreciated. A friend suggested I use a dimarzio humbucker from hell, but those pickups dont look right in a 50's les paul.

I would look at the Stormy Monday.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

A Riff Raff neck also splits well in my opinion.
Selling lots of gear, enquire within!......
