This is just a theoretical question at the moment as I don't have the spare cash to make it reality but it is something I'm seriously thinking about. At the moment my main guitar is a Jackson SL3 Soloist that I've put BKP pots and caps in as well as a Miracle Man and a pair of Trilogy Suites. For the most part, I love it but the one thing I've never really fallen in love with is the single coils. Don't get me wrong, the Trilogy Suites are superb but I guess I'm just a humbucker guy so I'd rather have the same guitar with an H-H layout. That has led me to look at the new Jackson SL2Q which looks fantastic and a very good price, though I believe it's now made in Korea whereas my SL3 was made in Japan. Nevertheless, I am considering either selling my SL3 or trading it in against an SL2Q. I'd move the Miracle Man over to the new guitar and sell the Trilogy Suites so I'm wondering what I'd put in the neck of the SL2Q. I'm assuming that the stock Seymour Duncan 59 wouldn't be comparable to a Bare Knuckle pickup. My first thought was an Emerald as I absolutely LOVE it in the neck of my PRS but it may be a bit bright in the Jackson. Another thought was the Cold Sweat but wouldn't that have the same problem? I need a neck pickup that would match well with the Miracle Man, stay highly articulate right down to the bass notes, take a good chunk of gain and give a tone like that of Dave Murray. Any ideas?
