My xmas present arrived - belated NAD
« on: December 23, 2012, 08:34:06 AM »

Got myself a Friedman BE100. Best amp I ever played, nothing compares. I'm having a blast each and every day  :D

Congrats! I don't know these amps, but if you say this is the best you've had, I believe you. You had quite some amps as I remember.

Dave Friedman has The Ear. He knows how to tweak it right. This is most amazing cranked Marshall tone but with manageable volume, adorable switchable cleans and a totally great functioning and sounding effect loop. Quite a bit of versatility too.

I love the lower gain Input (BE=Brown Eye) but with SAT switch on, which adds a clipping Diode. Total 80s rock heaven.

Then switch back to normal and use the highgain input (HBE = Hairy Brown Eye) and you have the best modern highgain tone you can think of, tight bass, screaming highs, string separation on complex chords, harmonic feedback, djent, pinch harmonics, it's all there.

Sounds like he has The Ear and The Eye.  What about The Nose?

Enjoyed the clip (yours, not the Phil X one!)

Yeah this amp is the Sh|t. There ain't no better if you look for the best imagineable Marshall type tone. Whenever I flip it on I am dropping jaws as to how good it sounds. At any volume, boosted, unboosted, effects, dry, always sounds like the big guys. Like so many records I have strived towards. Gary Moore? Yep. Iron Maiden? Yep. Metallica? Yep. Cream? Yep. Zeppelin? Yep. Slash? No problem. EVH? anyways!

All there. Awesome awesome. I'm sure it's much more money  than the components are worth. But it sounds like every single € I paid for it. Sounds like a million bucks actually, so I got it 997000 bucks cheaper :)
