Pedals and their un-expected side effects!

I grabbed myself a Boss NS-2 a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised by an additional effect on my tone. It has somehow boosted the low-end a bit, giving my sound just that little bit more meat when the pedal is active.

That was a rather happy accident! I now don't turn it off when using it for recording, it's become an integral part of my sound, heh.

Anyone else had similar experiences with this pedal or any others? Share the unexpected secrets!  :D

Nothing really for me specifically, but I know that Angus Young's tone was definitely boosted by the wireless systems they used. Nothing to complain about there!

My noise gate also gives some extra fullness to the sound that I really love. It grinds a bit more.

yeah from what i can remember the ns2 gave me a bit of a boost too.

If it's a Decimator it has a trimmer inside that sets the pedal at unity when it's bypassed (which it never is...) and effects it's output both ways. Though adjusting it back to unity is not easy without a switchable loop.

Same for me, don't know why but I like the coloring the NS-2 gives to the tone, tried an ISP Decimator in my local music store and didn't like it at all compared to the Boss...
