BKP PUP recommendations for new guitar

Yep another PUP recommendation thread.  :roll:

I'm a recent convert to BKP as I've just installed a set of Alnico Nailbombs in my PRS SE245 with outstanding results (replaced a JB/Jazz set which sucked the life out of the guitar, esp the JB).

Now, I'm getting rid of my ESP LTD with active EMGs which is a beautiful guitar, but I've tried to like actives over the years, but what they have in output they lack in character and articulation for mine. Also, I find slightly shorter scale lengths more comfortable (24.5 - 24.75'). I've got my eye on a new Schecter Blackjack SLS with SD Full Shred/Jazz combo. Here's a look:

I play mostly metal and rock and want a high output PUP in the bridge, but still want some versatility to play other things like nice cleans, creamy blues leads, crisp runs etc. If the stock PUPs don't cut it, I'm thinking a Miracle Man in the bridge and a Cold Sweat in the neck position. Based on the wood (mahogany body, maple neck, ebony board) do you think this will do the trick? I will be detuning this guitar (no lower than C) and like some low end but still crisp and articulate.

I need a sense check on my thoughts. Any feedback is appreciated.

if you have the volume pot skills, you'll have a very versatile guitar
a split coil could be useful as well

Thanks for your reply. The Schecter does have coil tapping as well so that's a plus.

The guys at BKP recommended the ceramic nailbomb in the bridge as they thought the miracle man might be too hot. They are comparable sound wise according to the tone chart. Only problem is that I've already got a nailbomb set (alnico) on my PRS and want something different in this guitar as I don't want 2 guitars the same (although I'm aware that there are other things that set it them apart obviously). I am concerned that the MM may brighten the guitar up too much. I want a hot pup that won't suck the life out of the guitar like an active pup would.

Now I'm more confused.

I'd never argue with what the BKP guys say, they're usually always right.

I wouldn't expect a c-bomb to sound less hot/aggressive than a miracle man, although it has a lower dc
the cold sweat and the alnico nailbomb are almost as hot as a miracle man (definitely feels much hotter if it's set close to the strings)
never played the c-bomb, but from reviews (specially MDV's) it might sound even more aggressive, in a more raw way
the miracle man is quite modern and polished, although it has a significant amount of low end in the lower strings and top end in the higher stringers
I don't find the miracle man to be "too hot" for anything that requires distortion and it does sound great in crunch and clean settings as well
it's not an overly bright pickup by any means
the high E might sound a little trebly in standard tuning in some guitars, also depending on settings, but in Eb it's already pretty good
it's a quite articulate tone, but not piercing

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I finally pulled the trigger on a MM bridge and CS neck. Fingers crossed they turn out the way I imagine.
