Noobie here. Need suggestions
« on: January 21, 2013, 03:27:08 AM »
Hello folks:

I´m new to the forum and would like to get advice on a bridge pickup to install on a Warmoth Gibson Les Paul copy that I assembled last year.  The guitar currently has a Dimarzio Norton pickup and to my ears it sounds liveless.  Specs for the guitar are:

Mahogany Body
Maple Neck
Ebony fretboard
Floyd Rose trem

I play thru a Friedman BE 100 amp and my main styles are 80´s hard rock, metal, and fusion music.

Here is a picture of the guitar in question and thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Now, should I go with the tall leg version or the short leg version?  I know that for the bridge I will get a 53mm version and for the neck the 50mm version.

Depends on how deep the cavities are routed. I would definitely go short leg for the neck pickup. For the bridge pickup both could work but I would also go for short leg - that will definitely work.

I know that for the bridge I will get a 53mm version and for the neck the 50mm version.

Good choice for the FR trem bridge.

Cheers Stephan
