It's cool that they've been reissued, but not really my kind of thing, except maybe the S-100.

Where are these made?  Not the USA, presumably?

Manhattan with bigsby is tasty, big fan of the Starfire bass too. Shame none of this collection is equipped with Dynasonics like some of the old Guilds. I own a 98 Dearmond Starfire Special with USA 2k pickups, Korean made, decent guitar for the price. I also own a 79 Guild S-60 and the single HB-1 humbucker is one of the best pickups i've came across.

I actuallly like the low output pickups on the Manhattan. At least in the vids.

I once tried a vintage 60's Dynasonic equipped Starfire ii into a Fender Twin Reverb, to this day it's the best guitar i ever heard. Shame that Bare Knuckle don't do a Dynasonic style pickup.

I'm a big Guild fan, and it's good to see their designs being remade.

However, I would be interested how the price of these compares with an original Guild.

Thats too much in my opinion for a Korean made guitar. You could pick up one of the 90's USA re-issues for not too much more, or even a 90's Dearmond for about half of that and save the rest of your money for mods.

That depends how good the guitar is made and how you value it. Compared to US Guilds it's a cheapo, but it's expensive compared to Gretsch Electromatics. It's in the pricerange of Peerless.

As i said, for that price i'd rather buy a 90's Dearmond or Gretsch Electromatic(possibly made in the same factory?) and with the change, upgrade the tuners, install a Compton bridge and pickup wise, for  humbuckers, it's Bare Knuckle or if you want Dynasonics i'd go for T.V.Jones T-Armonds.

Guild website states $1,599 for Bigsby equipped Starfire, i recently saw a 95 USA Starfire IV
in a London guitar shop for £1,295. i don't know the exact exchange rate but there's not a lot in it. i'm a massive Guild fan (both electric and acoustic) and i'm glad to see some of these models produced again but i don't think they represent good value for money.
