the holy diver is the best pup I ever played for AiC
not even jerry's own pickups (duncan JB and motor city afwayu) sounded better for that
JB is just too gainy and compressed
the motor city is great, but way too punchy, bass heavy and aggressive
the diver has midrangy thick lead tone, fat and full chords, dense without losing string separation
for some reason, I loved it for Pantera too, although it sounds nothing like Dimebag (that's the cold sweat job)
I'm not sure how a supreme, being fully chambered, differs from a solid les paul and how they react to medium high output pickups
if you decide for a lower output model, the black dog has a similar voicing to the holy diver, but in more classic sounding Soundgarden-like form
the rebel yell sounds quite "facelifty", being more focused and sharp sounding than the diver, which can be a great thing if you're looking to make your supreme just a little more like Jerry's G&L
for some reason, the abraxas sounds like a great match too
I've been using the riff raff for those styles for a couple years and I'm pretty happy with it
it screams with a booster
for the neck, anything from the stormy monday to the emerald should work
when uncertain about a neck pickup, the mule is always a great pick
it has that glassy and full clean tone for the acoustic-like parts
the cold sweat also pairs pretty well with the diver, but has more teeth to it
cleans up well too, but needs some knob rolling in comparison to tame things a bit
