After a little chat with a few of you on another thread, I think we summised that Satch didn't look to cool, not so very long ago!
Which other heros have you seen lately and thought ?????

AAAAAAAAGES ago, someone on this forum posted a picture of Slayer in the early 80's kitted out in their finest Spandex. That made me laugh. Anyone remember this?

Steve Vai has my vote. Despite his talent it seems that guy is forver chasing bad fashion ideas. DLR and Whitesnake saw him in some of his finest threads. A Guitar World mag from last year had a pic of him in a fur coat and platforms :roll:

I remember a picture of John Frusciante, circa 1998/9, wearing an all-in-one skin tight, studded, bright red bodysuit. It was, er...interesting.

Plus, anything Dave Navarro has done after 2001.

and, it might just be me, but did anyone else feel a little bit embarassed seeing Slash rocking out and throwing all his rock god-shapes to a bunch of over-excited 14 year olds at Live 8?

Metallica in the Load and Reload era. Short hair, black mascara and Kirk's lip piercing. They looked rediculous. Anton Corbijn's photos were great though.

Zakk Wylde was cool when he first joined Ozzy and looked like a guitar god in waiting.
Lately with the long Viking Beard andd Biker gear he looks like a tramp.

I still think his playing is great but he could do with a shave!
