Pickup for Strat and Tele
« on: February 28, 2013, 04:12:08 PM »
Hi,

I have to Fender guitars, the first is a Stratocaster American Vintage in SSS and the other in an Telecaster American Vintage in HS.

I want to change the pickups, in my strat i want a sound something like Hendrix, SRV, blues tone =)

I want the difference beetween van zandt blues and BK pickup !

On my Tele, I'm looking for Andy Summers tone, whose pickups are the best ?

Cheers ;)

- Irish Tours for the strat.
- Your tele is SH I suppose? Which model exactly? Rosewood or maple board?
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I'd consider Mothers Milks too for the Strat, especially if it has a rosewood board. Not as hot as the Irish Tours. I have a set and I find them great for SRV, Hendrix, Robin Trower type shenanigans.

I would highly recommend the '63 Veneer Board single coil set - extremely good at replicating that hollow, woody snap of SRV and it's got enough power to really drive for hot soloing too.

Tele Custom - we don't make Wide Range humbuckers I'm afraid but I have made quite a few bridge coils for that AS tone and have always used the Blackguard Tele Series '55 Stagger which has worked really well.
