BKP advice for new guitar
« on: March 03, 2013, 11:00:25 AM »
Hey guys, im hoping to getting a new guitar soon.
The options are:

Korina body/wenge top - 3 piece maple/walnut neck - massacar ebony fretboard

Korina body/maple burl top - same specs for neck and fretboard

So just wondered what BKPs would you guys recommend for each of these options? im quite new to some of these wood variants so any help would be greatly appreciated. I play metal through a JSX with a OD808 in front-thanks again guys!

P.S. Feel free to suggest other wood options for the neck, etc if it would suit a certain pickup best

Burl shouldn't effect the voicing of the guitar so you can treat that as a Korina body.
Wenge is much harder and more open grain so will reproduce more bottom end by comparison.

What style of guitar is this, ie Strat, Tele etc ?

Neck through, bolt on or glued neck?
