i recently heard (friom a guy who owns one) that the ibanez rg8670 j-custom has an asymmetrical neck profile, and it's the best neck i've ever played, so...

I figure it's probably one of those things where it's better, but costs a lot more- or you need special equipment to do it or something, that's probably why more companies don't do it...
or else the usual answer of personal preference- some people like it, some don't...

Yep, may need special tooling (less done by hand which would be very costly) which would explain alot.
Personal preference too. But in my opinion, although still Love my Les Paul, "Once Ya Go Asymetrical, Ya Don't Go Back" lol!
