Pickups for 2006 Les Paul Custom
« on: March 07, 2013, 09:12:17 AM »
Heya, I'm wondering what sort of pickups should I get for a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Custom. I tune to Drop B with quite a heavy gauge string and I play in a metal band. The equipment I use is:  Mesa Mark V > Maxxon OD 808 > Mesa 4x12 Rectifier Cab.

I find the bridge pickup to be way too trebly for my liking. The neck pickup is good though, so that's optional to change.
The sort of sound I'm thinking of is Modern Machine Head, i.e The Blackening, Unto The Locust. I'd like a lot of note definition for the fast picking and pinched harmonics.

Thank you in advance.

Mathew

Saying that, I have a Ceramic Nailbomb bridge + a Cold Sweat neck in my Gibson Explorer :') how much different would it sound in an LP do you reckon?
