Installed my 1st BK pickup.

I received a '58 P Bass split coil pickup as a gift from a good friend of mine. Received & installed it yesterday, and wow, what a difference! Much more clarity than the standard Fender P-Bass pickup that was in it, but not as much bottom end as I was expecting. (Going for that "Klaus Voorman sound, he plays an original '58).

Been using Thomastik-Infield Jazz Flats on this bass for years, but they don't sound as good with these pickups. So will try a set of LaBella Deep Talkin Bass, and see how those do.

Already thinking of a set for my Strat, too! How do I register these for warranty purposes?

I don't know much about bass, but with the guitar pickups, the pickup height has a huge effect on the low end response
if you can set pickups closer to strings, try that

Thanks Eric, took care of that this morning. Plus one of the pieces was reversed. That helped bring out the missing bottom end right away.
