a nicely done Gibson.....
« on: March 19, 2013, 06:36:26 PM »
.....not

Jesus. The middle of the body looks like some sort of avocado. I wouldn't pay £89 for it let alone £899.
I think I hate being indecisive.

They did indeed do a zoot suit SG. To be honest I've not bothered researching to see if these were produced at the same time. If they weren't one can only assume that either the SG version was a big seller or there are lots of yes men at Gibson who will do whatever they are told to.

My first thought was a cross section of a giant gobstopper...thats not a thought I have very often...

It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

That's a good spot. Maybe that's where they got the idea from.

Pretty ugly indeed, but I would buy it for 89£ and then give it a little makeover  :D

Was gonna say this. I'd gladly fork over that money and just simply repaint it. Sadly, that's not the case.

I can see that work for a psychedelic band for sure, especially when it is a little worn. Throw some delay and a nasty 70s fuzz on there and bäm!

One time I s**t in my hands and clapped... and the result was far more pleasing.

When these first appeared I absolutely hated them, but for some strange reason they've grown on me (slightly).  The colour schemes seem to vary a lot, and some of them actually look quite cool.

This one certainly isn't pretty, but it has something of the Eric Clapton "Fool" SG about it.

Actually, believe it or not, I think the worst features here are the covered bridge pickup and chrome knobs, they look totally out of place.  I'd have a zebra pickup and black speed knobs.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
