Question about alternative to the Ceramic Nailbomb
« on: March 29, 2013, 01:37:43 PM »
I love the ceramic nail bomb I have in my 6 string.   I'd like a similar sound for my seven string, but in a more vintage-hot output.   Any suggestions?
BKPs: Black Dog (b) Slow Hand (n), Emerald (set), Holy Diver (set), C-Bomb (b), VHII (set), Rebel Yell (b) MQ (n), Mother's Milk (set)

The guitar that has the CBomb in it had a CS first.  The CS didn't have enough bass there.   My guitar with the VHII in it is a lot "hairier" than the CBomb, it's great for leads, but mushes out a little on rhythms.

I guess I'm looking for a slightly scooped mid-output pickup.   Looking at the charts on the site, there doesn't seem to be one.

I've been thinking that I might try an Emerald set, since I have those in a different 6 and I really like them, they just not quite as aggressive as the CBomb... but maybe that comes with the output?
