Clean Tone
« on: March 03, 2006, 02:29:49 PM »
I am looking for a HB for pretty much just the clean tone (neck).  I have a Warpig to handle the distortion; I have talked to Tim via email and everything sounds good and I can't decide!  I have somewhat narrowed it down to Cold Sweat or Miracle Man for the clean tone.  I want a jazzy tone but not too mellow, I do quite a bit of tapping, so something that would complement that would be what I am looking for.  Anything would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The Miracle Man has a more vibrant clean tone than the Cold Sweat in my experience. It's natural compression is also great for legato and tapping.

How about an AV Mississippi Queen in the neck?

Some forum members have great results with that combo.

None of BKP's neck pickups are ceramic.

Ceramics in the bridge position can sound good clean.

For a neck clean tone the Miracle Man sounds better, the neck cold sweat ounds awesome dirty, it has a mid range peak that gets a great shred neck tone like Vinnie Moore.

The Miracle Man neck is more natural with less of a peak and better for clean work.

I looked for your clip Ratty but couldn't find it. Did you delete it in Ol's housekeeping mission?

Thanks Sambo! It's supposed to me Stray Cat Strut by the Stray Cats! Not as good as Mr Stezer plays it though!
