wiring two humbuckers with 3 way switch
« on: April 14, 2013, 01:56:41 PM »
Hi all, just building a jazzcaster with two humbuckers, 500k volume and tone pots and tele/strat style 3 way switch. Looking at the tele wiring with tele pick ups, 250k pots and  oak grigsby switch the cap is wired centre tag on tone pot to ground,  looking at two humbuckers with 500k pots and gibson style toggle switch the cap is wired between middle tag on tone pot and tag with wire from toggle switch on volume pot. cap is 0.22uf on both schematics. I could try both but thought someone here would know and save me some extra soldering. I would like to do it right first time.

Both ways are correct and equivalent.

thanks did some more searching and went for the ground to tone pot. That cloth covered cable is a pain to strip.
