Hi everybody! :D

I don't have experience with bkp humbuckers, just have piledrivers in my telecaster and i'm very happy with it.

I'm actually modding a Ibanez RG: i put a figured maple top on a mahogany ( dark sounding, it isn't ? ) body, i think to put in bkp blackhawk or nailbomb. I play modern rock , metal with a hi gain sound, but also jazz stuff ( neck pickup ) , and quieter stuff ..

What do you suggest me?

Thank's ! :) ( and sorry for my pooooor english .. )

I'd go with a Black Hawk set because they seem really versatile from what I can gather, although I've never tried them myself. I have tried an A-Bomb and that was very 90s Metal with a lot of aggression.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

I use an alnico nailbomb and and alnico black hawk in the bridge.
The nailbomb is more versatile by far.  Far superior cleans to the black hawk and it sounds really raw and clear.  Lots of bottom end too but it can do 'hair metal' and heavy blues really well too.  I really $%&#ing rate it.

As for the black hawk its an extremely aggressive pickup tight, full on and heavy as sin.  To date I prefer the nailbomb but in fairness ive played my nailbomb with different amps,  different settings and situations and never been dissapointed.

I've never played my black hawk through a cranked stack yet though and I think this is when it will shine.  Subtle it aint and for full on metal it MAY be better than the nailbomb but i cant say for defininte yet.
