Now that would be a dangerous hobby for me to get into!

As if pedal building isn't?

Pedal building isn't dangerous. Amp building is however :) But I've only done one of those.

I just mean that if you f**k up an amp it can actually kill you, where as a pedal and beer is unlikely to (though the beer can make you do things that are particularly stupid and dangerous). Loved making mine and if I had space I'd make myself others just for shites and giggles. But they do take up quite a bit of space.

for the price it's an absolute bargain, 3 types of boost in one. I was going to get the keeley time machine but would rather get the byoc, I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow if not monday next week.

yeah i mean i'm not sure i'd use a boost enough to justify just the one, but 3 pedals in one might make it worthwhile.

or better yet, building it into one of those od/boost dual pedals (assuming it'd fit) would be awesome.

See this is the beauty of it, you can fit a SHO circuit on the back of a pot and stick something else in there with it.

Fortunentally homebrewing takes a while and you usually produce beer that is the kind to enjoy, not to chug, so less danger there. Now beer and DIY electronics combined...any wishes for your tombstone?

That indeed is a thing of beauty. Still enjoy the one you made, just works great in that guitar when going straight into the amp. Makes for a real workhorse.

Now I just gotta start doing those myself to add them to EVERYTHING!! SHOs EVERYWHERE!!! THE MAKE IT ALL BETTER! MUHAHAHAHA!
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n

Or you could put it in a box, apply some fancy paint work and charge £200+ for it.   :D
I think I hate being indecisive.

I have been building them both over the weekend, it's a bit less of a stage by stage update but they are both built and there have been a few problems along the way as well as good things.

The fuzz is working but I'm not sure if it's 100% right but it sounds great, certain settings on the bias are unusable but it's hilarious how heavy it gets, like your face is melting off heavy lol

The Triboost works but has a problem with the clean boost mode, the other two modes work fine but have this slight static noise, the main thing I wanted it for was to get a vintage treble boost sound and that mode works well.

Some pictures here and there will be more to follow of the completed builds!

also some sound clips to follow to show you how they sound! I'm hoping someone will know what I've done with the clean boost mode in the triboost wrong?

It all looks good from what I can make out in the pics. For the biasing of the fuzz, I think it says aim for about 4.5v (you'll need a digital multimeter if you haven't already got one). There is actually a way of working out the correct bias, but somewhere in the region of 4-6v will probably be in the right area. Saying that, there's nothing at all stopping you just putting it where you think it sounds best.

As for the clean boost mode, without looking at the circuit, I don't know what it's doing. It the crackle when turning one of the knobs or just there all the time? Otherwise, the forum on BYOC is your friend. All the questions about the kits will have been asked before on there.

thanks 38th! just an update, it was my power supply that was causing the noise it was not right for the pedal, so in other words they are fully working, great news, there's now no noise! and the booster is working how it should be. I'll be recording some clips tomorrow and uploading them
