In one guitar I went from the Wilde L-500XL to the Miracle Man and from there to the Cold Sweat. The Miracle Man sounded similar to the L-500XL but with a bit less power. The Cold Sweat is brighter.

However - what is the benefit in changing a pickup with one that sounds the same?

Cheers Stephan

Thx for the answer, can you please tell more about that, why did you change 2 times and what do you prefer in each of them, (do you prefer the miracle man instead of the wylde, do prefer bare knuckle etc..)

It's because I'm in a guitar building project and the look of the pickup will be very important, i always loved the nuno bridge tone so...  :)

the lawrence is far more scooped than both miracle man and cold sweat, in my experience
both bkps have more low end and mids
tonally, the cold sweat was a little closer
both made the lawrence sound like a very thin sounding single coil in comparison

the only bkp I tried that had that sort of midscoop was the neck nailbomb
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

For that particular guitar the Cold Sweat turned out to be my favorite. The other two had just too much output and made the guitar sound too compressed.

What I like about Bare Knuckle pickups is that they are very clear and articulate and you can find the right model to enhance specific aspects of a given guitar. The L-500 XL is great, too - I have it in another guitar right now where it works really well (that one needed a bit help in output) but it's much more a matter whether it matches the guitar.
