Tried the Mules
« on: March 05, 2006, 11:51:28 AM »
Tried out my new pups last night did a couple of numbers with my mates band and from the opening chords of sharp dressed man..........well I cant describe the IMMENSE buzz I got and HUGE sound coming out of the amp, still had a silly grin on my face when I got up this morning. Jesus I thought the Crawlers fitted to my Flying V were superb but the Mules are the dogs bollocks. So just to sum up the Les Paul will now be the main guitar and the V will be the spare. Another big thanks to Tim and co. for providing me with yet another bit of QUALITY kit.
cheers
Im calming down now

Nice to see another keen customer, but it's not like there aren't enough already. The Mules are gorgeous, yes. Buy more guitars, then buy more BKPs!

:D Glad you liked `em !

I can`i decide wether i prefer the VHII or The Mules. Both can handle as much gain as you can throw at`em but bith clean up really nicely as well.

YAY another Mule fan to add to the list. I love mine now I've stopped using my weber attentuator, all the time I thought it was the pickups not being bright enough for my tastes but it was just the weber minimass destroying the tone!

Hey Keith sounds like you won't be putting that guitar down for a while. What is it about the Mules that puts them over the Crawlers for you :?:

Hi Bird well not being a techie and not being as knowledgable as a lot of the guys in here i'll try and explain. imho I found that I could get more of an 'old school' tone from the Mules which dont seem as powerful as the Crawlers so I tend to play more aggresively using them (Mules) whereas when I use the Crawlers I dont play so hard. They are both very versatile pups and have great ranges and responses and also have more definition than the stock Gibsons which I took out of both my guitars. For me I found the Mules to be more user friendly and easier to control than the Crawlers. That probably wont answer your question and will have the other guys in here saying wtf is he on about he he but at the end of the day its about the sound and I just prefer the Mules. Anyway you can see them on http://photos.wanadoo.co.uk/album/2324601 if your interested
cheers

Btw I should probably have asked TO to write this for me he seems to be the 'man' with the knowledge after Tim of course.
Have you got your pups yet? let me know what you think of them.

Actually that answers my question nicely :)  I thought I'd settled on Crawlers for sg but after reading this post and listening to the Mule clips again I'm not so sure. I'm still waiting on my MM/trilogy setup. Nice pics, you can't go wrong with the classics.
