It's absolute nonsense. An online poll is is hardly a meaningful representation of anything. For a start, it's now 2013 and not 2007, so 6 years of statistics has been missed, which could show anything. In the UK, the firearms offences include using replica weapons etc for intimidation. Not just fatal shootings. In 2008, there were four times the amount of deaths from fatal stabbings than from shootings. That pole was put online very very soon after a high profile murder so some voting will be reactionary. I can't support the completely racist, xenophobic, idotic and ignorant comments on either website. I'm lucky enough to have not seen a gun in a long time (my dad used to have shotguns for clay pigeon shooting but got rid of them when I was really young) and unless you're really really unlucky or mix with the wrong crowd, as a citizen, I think you'll be unfortunate to ever come across one in the UK. I jog around the place labelled 'Least peacful place in the UK' and I don't feel threatened by guns.
I find your post on this subject on a music related forum pretty distasteful, and I hope this is removed also.
