Yes, they are dimarzios. Some kind of DLX I assume.

Thinking about it, if those were the stock pickups on that Yamaha, they're probably Q100 pickups (see what they did there?  ), which are the same as the DiMarzio DLX Plus neck model.

I've got a few DLX pickups at home, needless to say I have never got round to using them.  One day they will probably end up in some of my MIJ Juniors or Specials, for a slightly more "modern" vibe than the P-90s.  That's the plan, anyway....

That looks like an SGV800 to me, so it would have had these weird shaped P90 like pickups:

You can kind of see something funny going on with the pickguard at the edge of the DLXs.

Yeah, exactly. It's the combo isn't it? My yellow SGV has double strat pickups which looks great though.

yeah. it's amazing how much of a difference very small things can make to the aesthetics. I'm still amazed how a different colour pickguard can make the thing look like a totally different guitar

Interesting guitar. I like that headstock, between Explorer and ParkerFly.

I know Vinny a bit from Facebook and HugeRacksInc, he's a funny guy with a nice Marshall collection.

Was just at Jonathan's place and he pointed out to me that the body has a wood cap on it. Probably it's mahogany with a maple cap.

 8) Jonathan and his team at Feline have done a nice pimp job on her haven't they?

She look, plays and sounds exactly to my liking now :)

Pickups are a special set of P90s, with the neck having a Stratocaster sound. The body has been done in Olympic white. There's quite a few other little things that had to be done, but I'm very pleased with the result. Absolutely gorgeous guitar!

Yes  :D

And except for some rare case (white binding/very large pickguard) I dislike black ones ;)

I like everything about this guitar err apart from the body :(. It's kind of unbalanced in a distortercaster way but it's
not trying to be humourous.

I still love it. It's a great looking guitar and I really think the P90s in it. I think Olympic White is my favourite Strat, and therefore by extension, all other solid colour finishes.

Did you consider 3D printing a more SGV800 pickup cover to fit the P90 bobbins underneath? It would be quite doable I reckon.

Yeah, that looks very nice in white! Besides that, it's a cool shape!

I did consider that yes. But there are a few SGVs around with straight P90s and it looks good, so I decided to keep it simple.

Thanks! I found almost by chance with the other SGV I have that the shape is perfectly balanced and feels good live. When I saw the stop tail one I knew I had to go for it, even if it was the wrong colour.
