Cheers Eric
It feels hotter than the Aftermath it replaced and hotter than PKs I have played but as you say it could be because its so much fuller than those pups. Yes I just assumed all Warpig pole pieces were like that, it arrived like that and just chucked it in as it was-are they normally flush with the pickup?
I think they would be at least a bit lower normally.
We just have a pole piece height discussion in another thread and the general thing is:
higher PU = more compression, hotness, fatness
lower PU = lower output and compression, more treble, clearer, more woodyness
raise the pole pieces = brighter, tighter, clearer, more focused
So I can really see why the previous owner would have raised the pole pieces. The low PU, raised pole piece combo seems like a really good idea with this thing.
Some awesome ideas there man!
Just mind play. I need a bright axe for the PIg90 after all and for the WP too, but the WP neck is also capable great jazz sounds so a hollowbody seems like a good idea.
