I think I know what's going on.

When you make a post and hit 'submit' the browser will show the hour glass. After a while the browser says 'done' but you still see the typing page. So you'll hit the 'submit' button again but your post is already submitted.

or sometimes my browswer fails and goes to "cannot find sever" so i go back and submit again but it actually did it the first time as well... resulting in a double post... if ya see what i mean...

Yeah same. Mine used to do that alot on other forums. I'm just waiting for someone to do a sextuple post in here or something stupid now  :lol:

hahaha! the penta-tonic-post thing that some guy did recently is the highest so far i think- but how did it get that high? surely it couldnt have been by ratrods theory- that only explains doubles.!?!?!

The proxies in work cause that to happen to me, except it sometimes dosn't post and sometimes double posts.

At least I have the ability to bypass the proxies (unlike the other suckers that work for the company).

If you have to use a proxy (through employers or whatever) try asking your network admin to set no cacheing for the site.
