Anyone own an Ibanez RGD 2127z - 7 string guitar?
« on: June 26, 2013, 02:13:42 PM »
hey guys, I've been looking at a pair of uncovered miracle man's for my Ibanez RGD 2127z, anyone install bare knuckles in these guitars before? I want to know if it will fit right onto the guitar, so each string is above each bolt.

I donīt see why they should not. If there is not something special about this guitar or the stock pups I am missing there should be no trouble, as BKPs really are just standard size.
Looks normal enough and does not seem like they have those triangular tabs though do not know much about direct mounting.

Maybe someone with direct mounting experience will chime in, but so far all should be good and well.

Plus you made a good PU choice mate!

thanks! the reason I'm asking is that the stock pickups aren't exactly aligned under the strings.. the bolts are a couple mm's off the side from where the string is. I don't know if it's a design flaw, but I took my guitar back to the shop and all of the Ibanez guitars hade the same except a few different models

Mhhh that seems odd.
What I just thought of is this https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/main/downloads/dimensions/humbuckers/7_string.pdf Since these are the exact dimensions of the BKP 7string HBs you can just measure on your guitar where the poles would sit.
Though the poles being slightly off should not really pose an isse in normal playing. Might be slightly noticable when doing bends, but I doubt you would actually notice.

Same here with my 2127FX, both the stock pickups and the DiMarzios I put in are slightly off to the eye but don't affect tone at all.
Go for Blackhawks if it's such an issue ;)
