HSS set with Aftermath humbucker
« on: July 02, 2013, 08:30:55 AM »
Hey
I was wondering why there are no sets for sale with the new Aftermath pickup
I have  a Mexican Strat (Lonestar Deluxe) that I want to upgrade, really liked the Aftermath sound.
Any suggestions to which singles should I buy with it?
I would like to preserve the Strat sound in the clean tones. (Maybe I shouldn't replace the singles at all?)

Thanks

The tight and dry Aftermath is seldom picked for HSS-strats. I think some Trilogy Suites would match, or if you want a more vintageflavoured tone, a pair of Slowhands.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Yeah I know it's seldom

But you need to try new things in order to find a new sound.

I really like it's unique high gain sound, my main concern is it sounds bright and a strat might be make it too bright.

Thanks I'd look into the pickups
(Any other humbucker recommendations would be cool)

The Holy Diver performs very well in strats, maybe together wit Irish Tours or, if you want more mids and less topend, the Slowhands.

Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone did try the Aftermath on a Strat and can share his opinion?
