Sounds great Ben! The neck on your Strat looks like its getting some use, is that the Gajic neck?

No, the neck is in the UK at the moment. That's the original Fender neck.

That video of those two blokes having a punch up, is that Igor from your band or is that a coincidence?!!

Know nothing about it.

Sounds great. When you got to the chorus I though I was listening to Afterlife by Dream Theater - the tone and chords made me do a double take!

That is the Competition head  I ordered december 29th, and it was here three weeks later. Scott Splawn managed to get the picture on his site(that's the one), before sending it to me. The 2x12 cab arrived at the end of february. Except for the usual peaking, everything is pretty much inside their boxes, waiting to be open. To tell you the truth if you ask me for a glass of water it will take me two weeks to get back at you. That's how busy this time of the year it gets. Ben thanks for passing around the Splawn info. Like your avatar says "TONE". That is the ultimate.:)
Just passing by

Very interesting reading the very different comments on Ben's tone. Confirms what I said in one of Willo's posts about tone - "one man's tone is another man's poison."

What I think will be VERY interesting is the 240 clips of the various BK pickups which Tim will be adding to the new site.  Tim will probably have recorded them either through his Marshall or Engl Screamer. Any bets they will sound different to the many digital clips in the Players section - dispite having tried Pod, Black Box, Guitar Rig, Amplitube etc. I just don't think they give a true representation of what the guitar/pickup produces in a 'live' situation (always seems to be something missing) . I appreciate that they are a very quick convenient way of recording a clip and many players will not have access to a suitable amp/mike setup but I would never buy a pickup or guitar based on a clip recorded on a digital amp simulator.

yer your right mate- i would never buy a pup because of any recordings i heard not just digital stuff. there were virtually no clips of the BKP p-90s when i bought mine i just took a risk. but i agree with you about digital stuff not giving a true representation and also that digital stuff is easier and cheaper.

Good point Tellboy! I'm looking forawrd to hearing them all too.

To record using a valve amp, one easy way is to just run them through an attenuator with a line out to a recording device, only a bit more than a digital thingy amd miles better!

good idea johnny but then you still need 'recorder device' even if you did get an attenuator instead of a digital thingy!

+1 on the tube amp recordings. But still, as soon as the recording is converted to MP3, half the actual sound is gone. It's just a rough indication of the pickup's sound.
